Autumn Instruments

Overview

Autumn Instruments builds guitars, basses, and pedals that evoke nostalgia and ignite innovation

In 2002, two friends began taking apart, modding, and fixing guitar pedals. Setting up shop in one of their grandmother’s living room in Birmingham, Alabama, they tirelessly developed and fine-tuned their own prototypes. Their determination and passion birthed a unique line of guitar pedals.

Building on their existing brand, I updated their packaging and identity with a new look and feel to commemorate 20 years of making things that make noise.

The Challenge

Starting from a coffee table in a living and a passion for making music, the founders took their hobby and built a following of musicians. As they neared their 20th year of making instruments the founders felt they should commemorate with fresh pedal designs and branding – something that would help them stand out from the other bespoke pedal builders.

My Approach

From the get-go, the guys at Autumn Instruments wanted a cool new vibe for their guitar pedals – something that connects with players and shows off the awesome quality of their gear. We kicked things off by crafting a brand story that captures what are all about.
